How they work

They work by using a new scientific advance called Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis.

A series of safe, low-level electronic signals are sent up through your body when you stand on the monitor with your bare feet.

The InnerScan 542 uses a built-in computer to detect the different resistances of water, fat, bone and muscle as the electronic signals pass through your body.

You are then given a read out on the clear LCD screen.

Easy to use

The InnerScan 542 is simple to operate. When using it for the first time, you enter your age, height and gender by pressing just a few buttons. It takes only a few seconds.

These details are stored in the monitor’s computer for future use. After you’ve entered your details just touch a button with your big toe and it is ready to use again.

It will store details for four people, plus there is a temporary guest mode.

You can also use the Innerscan 542 with footwear as just a high precision scale to measure your weight.

 The pinpoint weight accuracy, of down to 0.1 of a kilogram is highly useful to detect your trend in daily weight gain, or loss, on first arising each morning.

Body fat percentage– scientifically proven over and over again

The Dunedin importer of Tanita scales Kerry Goodhew says, “I was given the opportunity of testing All Black Taine Randall and others, side-by-side with Dunedin Hospital’s $100, 000 DEXA machine (an Electro-Magnetic Scanner). You obtain similar readings to that of an expensive hospital X-ray scan machine. Your bone mineral weight is calculated in seconds.

 Your metabolic rate and age

It calculates the number of calories your body burns at rest from the amount of muscle in your body. This fascinating feature of the InnerScan 542 rates your present metabolic age up to a metabolic age of 50, but no higher than this. Ideally you want to be lower than this at any age, and continue to get lower as you improve your body condition.

This is a great feature. One 55 year old, super-fit athlete achieved an age reading of 18 years.

Your muscle mass

Displays the percent of muscle in your body. For every extra kg of muscle gained, your body uses approx 110 extra calories a day. You can be losing fat but gaining muscle. Now you can see the true picture.
