CUSTOMER BULLETIN (twelve) Winter 2008
From David Coory, author of the
nutrition book "Stay Healthy by Supplying
What's Lacking in Your Diet" and Managing Director of Zealand
Publishing House. Dear Valued Customer I’ve now made all the improvements to CAA that I have wanted to do for some time. I have done this in light of the latest nutrition research and customer feedback. I believe CAA is now better than ever. I am also happy to report that we have also eliminated the speckling problem from moisture absorption during storage. This has been done by using new forms of Magnesium and Potassium. We formerly used citrate chelates of these two bulk minerals for maximum absorption. We now use richer concentrates with slightly less absorption, but as they contain over double the amount of Magnesium and Potassium the net absorption is actually higher than before. And they do not absorb moisture from the air as previously. Five times more natural Vitamin D Also CAA now has five times more natural Vitamin D, to compensate for the marked decreased absorption as we age (latest research findings). Yet it is still well within safe levels. This important anti-cancer vitamin is the most commonly deficient vitamin nowadays, especially with the widespread use of sun block. Plant silica for youthful skin and hair For more youthful skin and hair, and healthy arteries CAA now contains a plant silica, extracted from bamboo shoots, the world’s richest source. Top quality Swiss Niacin We also now use a top quality Swiss Niacin that does not cause light-headedness in light framed women. Non-Niacin CAA has now been discontinued. No-fishy-burp CoQ10-Omega3 A few of our customers have in the past reported a slight fishy burp from CoQ10-Omega3. Our manufacturer has traced this to the small amount of Cod Liver Oil in CoQ10-Omega3 not being deodorised as specified. This has now been rectified. (Interestingly, it appears that simply storing non-deodorised fish oil capsules in the fridge can also prevent fishy burps.) New SafeSlim program This new product SafeSlim has been the end result of a lot of experimentation by myself. It works fine for me, and I am fairly typical. I found it more effective than the current weight loss favourite, the herb Hoodia. I’m hoping it works as well for everybody else. There is sound science behind the ingredients used. Interestingly, during my experiments, I lost so much weight that I began to eat the same amount of food as I would have normally, but my weight still dropped. So SafeSlim seems to work even without the appetite suppressant effect. However do not expect a dramatic decrease in appetite. SafeSlim contains only health-promoting ingredients, but you should still be able to eliminate about a third (700-1000) of your calories a day without excess hunger. I may offer a boost in the future by offering capsulated Caralluma, Green Tea and DHEA. SafeSlim is also a health-promoting tonic. Quoting your Customer ID speeds up the processing of your order We love our customers and always like to refer to you by name, but, a plea from our Customer Sales and Dispatch manager Katie Jones, quoting your Customer ID greatly speeds up order processing when you phone in an order. It also minimises any errors. Your Customer ID is now printed on your address label on the back of your quarterly catalogue, beginning with this issue. Direct Banking This method of payment is becoming increasingly popular. And no wonder, it's so quick, safe and convenient. To quote our General Manager Katie, "We find Direct Banking fantastic for those without credit cards, much more efficient than cheques." We here at Health House are presently looking at pioneering a way to offer you a Direct Banking facility from this website, along with our present credit card facility. (We are of course more than happy to continue processing your cheques. Many of our customers still prefer to use these.) Even now, you can easily pay by Direct Banking. Simply phone our call free number 0800 140 141 and place your order, along with your Customer ID number. As mentioned above, your Customer ID is listed on the address label, on the back page of your catalogue. If you are a new customer, you will be given an ID number over the phone.
Then deposit the order payment into our
Westpac bank account number Our bank records will be checked for the payment for up to 10 days afterward. As soon as it appears, your order will be dispatched. Sweet Stevia dissolvable tablets This is another new product we have just developed. Stevia is an amazing natural sweetener extracted from the leaves of a South American plant. Stevia is expensive, but you only need a small amount. And we have kept the price reasonable. You get a massive 200 tablets per bottle. The Stevia content of Sweet Stevia dissolves immediately, but the plant-based tableting aid leaves a small amount of edible white powder at the bottom of your cup. We cannot as yet find a fast dissolving, natural tabletting aid that is fully dissolving or does not discolour. Stevia is good for you. It contains no calories, does not raise blood sugar, and actually has a blood stabilising effect. Analyse Your Diet on-line Something I have always longed for is a simple-to-use program in which you can enter all the New Zealand foods you eat and drink in a typical day, or week, and then see graphs at the end, listing all the vitamins and minerals provided from your food, ie, Selenium, Zinc, Boron, Iron, Vitamin E, etc. And also to have the graphs clearly compare your results to the recommended daily intake (or RDI). Well, I’ve finally financed such a program, using a highly skilled programmer. I can’t wait to try it out myself. It’s not quite finished as I write, but is almost there. It should be available on our Health House website as you read this. There is considerable outlay for developing a program of this type, so the price for 10 days full use will be $40 for you and up to three other family members, and it will retain your figures during this period. You can test it free any time on our website. This kind of information is priceless. Kindest regards, David Coory.
HEALTH HINT
1. Eat fish or take Omega 3 fish oil. Among the elderly, those who eat plenty of seafood have 80 percent better brain function, compared to those who eat less seafood. 2. Cut your calorie intake. Studies have found that by feeding a third less calories to mice, genetically engineered to develop Alzheimer’s, the formation of brain amyloid plaques was reduced 74 percent. 3. Obtain 400 mcg of folate (folic acid) a day. A 10 year study showed that people who consume 400 mcg of folate a day (Our CAA has 200 mcg) experience a 55 percent lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s. NZ foods rich in folate are liver, broccoli, brussels sprouts, spinach, melons, avocados, oranges, sweet corn, peanuts, baked beans, peas, cauliflower and beetroot. 4. Obtain 5 mcg of Vitamin B12 a day. Vitamin B12 is a brain nutrient and necessary for a sense of well being and relaxation. The body can find it increasingly difficult to obtain Vitamin B12 from food as we age. If you are over 65, have your levels checked every few years. If low, you may need two monthly injections. Rich NZ food sources are pipis, liver, kidney, sardines, oysters, eggs and milk. (Our CAA contains 5 mcg of highly absorbable B12.) 5. Keep your brain challenged with complex mental activity. A study involving 29,000 people found that daily mental stimulation that challenges your mind, reduces the incidence of Dementia and Alzheimer’s 45%. Such activities include learning to play an instrument, doing crosswords and other puzzles, reading, playing chess, learning new things, travelling or volunteering for service.
