There have been some changes here at Health House over the past three months.

Following the voluntary liquidation of NZ Nutraceuticals Ltd, the Tauranga-based manufacturer of most of our products, we purchased the factory and assets. The capable management and staff are largely unchanged and full production has resumed.

The Herbalist range of products

As part of this purchase, we have acquired The Herbalist range of products. Some Herbalist customers will be getting this catalogue for the first time. Welcome aboard.

Our regular customers will already be familiar with the popular and effective Ultimate Cleanse developed by Herbalist Brett Elliott, that we already sell.

So now there are about 40 other Herbalist products we can offer you. We plan to test all these for effectiveness and compare them with the most effective and popular equivalent products on the New Zealand market.

If we feel improvements can be made, we will upgrade them. Our vision is that every product the Health House sells, be the best available in NZ in its class and price range.

Most of these Herbalist products are listed on the Herbalist website www.theherbalist.co.nz. You can order them from us via this website. They can also be ordered through our regular free 0800 140-141 number.

Our Health House policy of free courier within New Zealand also applies to these products.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin

Glucosamine is a very popular product on the New Zealand market for treating arthritis. However many CAA users have told us that CAA works better for them than Glucosamine, especially long term, so we have not offered this product in the past.

However research has shown that when Glucosamine is combined in equal parts with top quality Chondroitin sourced from expensive shark cartilage, it is much more effective. Especially when over 1000 mg a day of each is taken.

Only one product on the NZ market appears to combine an equal part of Chondroitan to do the job properly, and that is the expensive Solgar brand. Other brands have much lesser amounts of Chondroitin, ranging from none to 25%, not enough to be fully effective. This is due to the high price of Chondroitin (over 10 times the price). So we are taking this opportunity to reformulate the Herbalist Glucosamine product (which was called J-Care, but we are now calling it Healthy Joints) by adding equal amounts of Glucosamine and top quality shark cartilage Chrondroitin, 1350 mg of each per daily dose of three capsules.

Plus three nutrients that make CAA so effective against arthritis long term, chelated Boron, natural Vitamin D and organic Silica.

This unique product Healthy Joints is now available. Trial results have been outstanding. Please give us some feedback also if you decide to try it. We want this to be the most effective arthritis product on the market.

Colostrum

We have placed a large order for Colostrum this year (it’s a seasonal product) and plan to offer it to you in our next catalogue. Also an interesting book on this proven health product.

You’ll be amazed at the testimonies of people who have cleared up long standing health disorders by taking a course of Colostrum daily. Our Colostrum is made from milk taken within 16 hours of a cow giving birth. All of the immunity from an entire herd of cows is transferred to the human taker. These immune factors are identical to human immune factors.

For full benefits a reasonably large amount of Colostrum needs to be taken each day. One or two capsules is not enough, so we plan to sell it in powder form so you can experience real results without taking numerous capsules.

I have tried some and it tastes very nice, especially mixed with full cream milk. We also plan to make it into nice tasting tablets for children, and for adult daily maintenance.

SafeSlim proving popular

Our SafeSlim seems to be working very well. It can dramatically banish hunger in seconds after drinking. And unlike other herbal appetite suppressants like Hoodia, it suppresses appetite without nausea. However the effect is soon lost once you start eating again. SafeSlim is best used to skip meals entirely.

We’ve now found that SafeSlim works best stirred into a full glass of water and drunk, (rather than into half a glass of water as previously instructed and followed by another half a glass of plain water). It seems better for the sweet taste to linger in your mouth, rather than be rinsed away by the plain water.

‘Analyse your diet on-line’ now free

I overestimated our customer’s willingness to pay for the use of this unique program. Large numbers looked at the program, but few seemed willing to pay. So I have chalked it up to experience and have now made the program a free gift to our customers, and to anybody else willing to register with us.

I have made a written record of my own food intake for a week, but I’ve been so busy with the purchase of the factory, that I have not even had time to analyse my own diet. Hard to unscrew bottle caps

Some Triple Packs went out in May with hard to remove lids. The factory bottling machine screwed the lids on too tight. If you still have any of these bottles, you can remove the lid by softening the plastic by holding it under a hot running tap, or standing it upside down in a plate of hot water for a minute.

DHEA

I’ve been doing some fascinating study on the youth hormone DHEA. It is a natural hormone, made by glands in our body.

It is powerful, and responsible for the energy, enthusiasm, health and sex drive enjoyed in youth.

DHEA peaks around age 25 and then steadily declines. Rather similar to CoQ10 in some ways.

We have a most interesting book available in this catalogue by respected bio-chemist Stephen Chernisk MS who has studied DHEA for 20 years and takes it himself.

It’s truly amazing stuff. I have imported some DHEA for capsuling and tested it locally with excellent results.

However, while freely available overseas, New Zealand authorities have recently followed the Australian TGA and restricted DHEA to ‘prescription only.’

We may however be able to make it available to you through pharmacies at a reasonable price. The pharmaceutical price of DHEA is nearly three times our projected price of $36 for two months supply of 20 mg capsules.

 6. Exercise

Healthy people who exercise regularly have a 35% lower risk of dementia. Even as little as 15 minutes vigorous exercise, or a 45 minute brisk walk, three days a week.

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin uncovered strong links between low levels of Vitamin D in Alzheimer’s patients and poor outcomes on cognitive brain tests.

8. Relax and think positively

According to the Center for Healthy Minds, elderly people who worry and feel insecure, nervous, or depressed are 50% more likely to show signs of mental decline.

9. Avoid diet drinks and Aspartame 951

According to researchers the following disorders can be triggered or worsened by aspartame, the chemical sweetener in diet drinks and other low calorie foods, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and diabetes.

10. Avoid Aluminum

Aluminum has been widely associated with Alzheimer’s. It is found in antiperspirants and baking powder. Aluminum cookware is also suspect.
